CATAPULT PROJECT

MY PROJECT

• For my project, I decided to make a catapult
• The main simple machine in a catapult is a lever.
• The lever is the arm of the catapult.

1ST

• I made the rectangular base.
• This was to make the catapult stable.

2ND

• I placed a bar in the middle of my base to keep it from shifting.

3RD

• I made the triangular arches to keep the bridge in place (center bar).
• This added to the stability of the structure.

4TH

• I put in the bridge.
• This made something for the lever to run into.
• Also, it kept the triangular arches in place.

5TH

• I made the lever
• The lever is used to launch an object.

6TH

• I put a rubber band behind the lever.
• This was to keep the lever from going back too far.
• It's also used to stretch the lever back and launch it.

I made the catapult out of chopsticks and steak skewers. The lever was a spoon attached to two steak skewers.

I attached all of these things together with small and normal sized rubber bands.

I got a plastic spoon and then melted it so that it would hold things better.
