STRATUS CLOUDS

  • Flat layered clouds
  • Below 6,000 feet
  • Change in the weather is coming or already happend

STRATOCUMULUS

  • Large dark clouds
  • Usually in groups
  • Lines or waves

  • Tall, puffy clouds
  • Below 6,000 feet

ALTOCUMULUS

  • Dark clouds
  • In groups and layers
  • Smaller than altostratus
  • Bigger than cirrocumulus

CIRRUS CLOUDS

  • Wispy clouds
  • Above 18,000 feet high

  • from near the ground to above 50,000 feet
  • have flat bases
  • involved in thunder storms and other intense storms
  • usually form as one and in clusters
