Early History...

  • Photography began in the early 10th century.
  • It was called the camera of obscura more commonly known as the pinhole camera
  • They took the pictures by using a dark box or room that would project images onto a white screen.

1800's History

  • They changed the pinhole camera by putting it in a light tight box with a lens that would momentarily record the image
  • They were able to produce a paper from the image but the image was not permanet
  • They used special paper that would make the images permanet

Late 1800 cameras:

  • Cameras were collapsable
  • Where ever the photographers went they had to set up a dark room
  • The image was transfered inside the camera to a piece of metal where it was fumed with mercury
