NASA's Curiosity Rover Team Confirms Ancient Lakes on Mars

  • NASA found found of water on Mars three years ago.
  • Mars rover found layers of sediment in Gale Crater on Mars.
  • At first, this was a "dry" hypothesis because sediment can form wind-blown dust and sand.
  • Recentley, scientists found, water-deposited, fine-grained rocks closer to Mount Sharp.
  • Scientists also found mud stones that indicated signs of lake deposits.
  • Scientists concluded the fact that fresh water exsisted 50 million years ago in Mars.
  • Many scientists still wonder how water had stayed on Mars for long periods of time.

Are We Headed to the Red Planet?

  • The Mars One company aims for sending four people into Mars to start settlements.
  • These volunteers have interviewed to go to Mars and never come back.
  • Scientists have found a way to send humans to Mars, but not back so once you are sent to Mars you are never coming back.
  • Mars One has spent a lot of money and work to plan for this project and although many people doubt it, Mars One is committed to make this project work by the year 2024.

Compare

  • Both articles show Mars discoveries.
  • Both articles show how Mars has resources to support life and water.

Contrast

  • Article 1 shows evidence of flowing water on Mars in the past.
  • Article 2 explains a project of sending people onto Mars to build settlements.

In My Opinion...
I like article 1 better because it gives more detail on Mars. I felt Article 2 just repeated information on the Mars One Project. The article on water found on Mars was really vague while the other article was detailed and made me know what hapend in a detailed way and gave a picture of what was going on in my mind.

Conclusion
In conclusion, article 1 showed how scientists found evidence of water on Mars. In article 2, Mars One company started a project looking ahead to the future. Both articles show how Mars has a huge impact on our future.
