Science Project

This is a science project comparing the X-Men mansion with an animal cell

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE X-MEN'S MANSION

AS A CELL!
I chose this because I have always liked comics. I hate the avengers and most of Marvel except for the X-Men because there complex and powerful. (Unlike the Avengers)

CYCLOPS is one of the best known X-Men and here he powers the mansion with his energy vision.

CYCLOPS shoots energy from his eyes powering the mansion in this project just as the ribosomes makes protein (food) for the entire cell.

Professor X is the leader and founder of the X-Men. With his supreme Telekinesis he can read, destroy, and influence minds.

A while ago when Professor X was young he was immobilized while fighting an alien (long story) and is forced to travel around in a wheelchair. After barely winning the fight he decided that mutants should be trained and assembled to do what humans can't. He is the leader of all the X-Men just like the nucleus controls and commands what the cell should and does do.

Nightcwaler has the ability to teleport far and fast. He can teleport as fast as he can punch and can teleport up to three miles!

Nightcrawler can teleport. This means that he can deliver stuff throughout the mansion just like the endoplasmic reticulum is made to deliver things within the cell.

The basement of the X-Mansion is were they store there extra stuff. Just like many houses today.

Just like basements in average houses today, basements store things. This is what the basement is used for in the X mansion. In the cell, vacuoles store food and water.

How does the mansion stay safe when nobody is home? The answer is there robotic defense system provided by the alien race Shi'Ar.

The X mansion has a perimeter barrier that consists of a robotic defense system. This protects the mansion. Similarly, the cell membrane controls what can come in or out of the cell. It also protects the cell from its environment.

The ready room is were the X-Men get there mission briefing and get ready for the challenge.

The ready room in the X mansion is where the X-Men get their briefings of each mission from Professor X. This is similar to the golgi bodies in a cell because the golgi bodies prepare what they're shipping, mainly proteins, in the cell.

Wolverine is known for saying "bub" and his unbreakable claws with his brutal personality. But what your average person doesn't know is that he likes to make kebobs.

One thing that the average person does not know about Wolverine is that Wolverine likes to make kebabs on his claws. In order to make a good kebab, Wolverine must follow a pattern of putting the pieces together. Ribosomes likewise create proteins which are also a complicated pattern of smaller proteins put together.

SunSpot has the ability to turn the suns radiation into heat that he uses to save lives.

Sunspot is able to convert sunlight into energy which is in the form of intense heat. He shoots this from his body. Chloroplasts convert sunlight into energy for the plant cell. Chloroplasts do this by containing chlorophyll which converts sunlight into energy.

IceMan can be virtually every were by controlling the moisture in the air. So he can basically multiply himself to be everywhere.

Iceman controls the moisture in the air. Because there is moisture everywhere to a certain degree, he can virtually control the environment. In a cell this is like the cytoplasm. The cytoplasm is the liquid/gel material that is in constant motion that holds everything together in the cell.
