It affected people by destroying their homes and economy . It washed out all tress, food, & homes

The Tsunami was 1720ft tall and that is why it makes it important because it is the tallest tsunami to ever happen

What caused the tsunami?
There was a huge landslide which caused the tsunami. There was a huge material "plopping" into the ocean that created enormous ripples that were so big that the speed of the waves was 300km/h. Then when the waves reached the beach they were really high and washed the land away.
