WHAT THE BRAIN DOES

  • The brain controls our thoughts
  • Controls our speech
  • Our movment
  • The function of our organs
  • And how we respond to text

CEREBUM

  • Largest part of the brain
  • Interprets touch, vision,hearing
  • In charge of emotion,reasoning,learning,and fine control movement

BRAIN STEM

  • Is a relay center connected to the spinal cord
  • It is to protect our skull

FRONTAL LOBE

  • Controls personality,behavior,emoti-ons,judgement, and problem solving
  • Controls speech, speaking, writing, and intelligence

PARIETAL LOBE

  • Interprets language,and words
  • Sense of touch, pain and temperature
  • Signals from vision,hearing,and memory

OCCIPITAL LOBE

  • Interprets vision
  • Is in charge of seeing light, color, movement
  • The two occipital lobes are the smallest of four lobes in the human brain

HYPOTHATHALAMUS

  • On the floor of the third ventricle
  • The master control of the autonomic system
  • Controls hunger, thirst, sleep temperature,blood pressure, and emotions

PITUITARY GLAND

  • Base of skull connected to hypothalamus
  • The master gland
  • Fights disease
  • Responds to stress

CRANIAL NERVES

  • Twelve of them
  • Ten of them control hearing,eye movment,facial sensations,taste, swallowing, movement of face,neck,shoulders,and tongue .

  • When you want to memorize something for a long time
  • Unlimited content and duration
  • Personal memories-facts and figures

  • Working memory
  • Stores Information for 1 minute
  • Only holds up to 7 things

  • In the cerebellum
  • Relays information
  • Stores automatic learning memories
