WHAT IM DOING

  • Im building a first class lever
  • a catapult that can use the law of moments
  • the law of moments will be able to lanch a rock in the catapult

1ST CLASS LEVERS

  • 1st class levers have they're fulcrum in the middle
  • they also have two moment arms to both sides
  • one of the moment arms is the effort arm
  • the other moment arm is the ressistance arm

EXAMPLES OF 1ST CLASS LEVERS

  • some examples of first class levers are as following
  • catapult (what i will be building)
  • see-saw
  • crowbar
  • scissiors

WHAT IM GOING TO BE BUILDING

  • im going to be building a minature catapult
  • this catapult will only use nessesary materials
  • easy to find materials and it works great

MATERIALS I USED

  • here is a list of materials i will be using
  • lots of popsicles
  • a bottlecap
  • lot of rubberbands
  • and superglue

STEPS TO BULDING THE MACHINE

THIS MACHINE WAS BUILT BY THE IDEAS FROM YOUTUBE

STEP 1

  • take six popsicle sticks in a stack
  • tie them together with rubberbands
  • make sure they are all together in order

2ND STEP

  • put a popsicle stick n the middle of the stack
  • tie it down and make a fulcrum
  • test it out to see if it works

3RD STEP

  • use popsicle sticks and stick em back on both sides of the stack
  • glue both of the popsicle sticks down.
  • then put a popsicle stick on the back of those to setup the base
  • wait untill all of the glue is dried

4TH STEP

  • glue down the bottlecap onto the main popsicle stick
  • then get a small piece of the popsicle stick and glue it on the back in the middle
  • take a rubberband and hook it onto the back and pull it under the catapult
  • then glue it on the lever part of the catapult
  • put in ammo and fire!!!!
