FACTS

• Sea otters are usually silver,brown or black
• Male otters are about 65 and females are about 45
• You can find sea otters in US,Canada,Russia
• Otters belong to the mammals.

HABITAT

• Sea otters live in the coastal waters off the northern Pacific Ocean
• They can be found in California, Washington
• They also can be found in different countries like Canada, Russia and Japan.

DIET

• Sea otters eat urchins, mussels, clams,
• They can eat crabs, snails and over 40 more ocean species.

INTERESTING FACTS

• The first sea otter was found in 1751
• They use rocks to brake shells
• Thry eat lots of sea urchins
• They can dive up to 330 feet trying to hunt

WHY ARE THEY IN DANGER

• Because back in the time people were killing the otters becase they wanted their fu
• Their fur has 1 million pieces of hair per square inch!
• Also the biggest threat for them right now is the oil spills .

HOW MANY ARE LEFT?

• There is about 200,000 otters left

WHAT IS BEING DONE?

• The biggest threat is the oil spills
• People are trying to make an underwater container to hold the oil
• There are no more hunting seasons for sea otters.
• Its only legal for alaska natives to hunt for sea otters.

I feels really sad because people back in the time only wanted to hunt animals because of their skin, but is sad that people just recently realize how important animals are and I think one day we will stop doing the wrong stuff and at least try to save our world.

Sea otters are nice so keep their habitat clean! And don't forget that sea otters contain the ocean , let's save them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
