SUMMER

  • Summer begins in the NH on June 20-21
  • This is the day when the North Pole is tilted a full 23 1/2 toward the sun
  • The longest day of the year is known as the Summer Solstice.
  • This year is gonna happen on June 21.
  • Summer is direct sun rays.

FALL (AUTUMN)

  • Autumn equinox begins September 22-23
  • The days get shorter.
  • NH and SH get the same amt. of direct rays neither is tilted toward the sun.
  • Autumn is indirect.

WINTER

  • Winter begins on December 21-22 when the Winter Solstice.
  • The North Pole is tilted at 23 1/2 degrees away from the sun.
  • The shortest day is in the Northern Hemisphere.
  • Winter is indirect sun rays.

SPRING

  • Spring begins on the vernal equinox, March 20-21.
  • Neither is tilted toward the sun, so NH and SH get the same direct sun rays.
  • The first day of spring of this year was March 20.
  • Spring is direct sun rays.
