The Seminole tribe was formed from other tribes in the 1700s.
The main people were the southern Creek who left Georgia to find safer land
People from other tribe joined them and they became known as the Seminole T

Seminole Clans
The Seminole people were divided in to smaller groups called Clans.
This is an extension of the traditional family unit.
When two people got married the man would go live with his wife's clan.

The green corn dance was an annual festival
Seminole religion centered near the Green Corn Ceremony.
A ceremony is a special event.

The villages were very small.
The whole village might only have 10-12 homes.
Seminoles did not live in their villages year round.
Kids played with dolls,pets, and many more.

They lived in swampy areas in Florida
The weather in Florida was hot and sunny
But the weather was also rainy at times.
