Seminole Wind By :John Anderson

  • It is showing that we need to be aware of how man can be destructive and will do anything for the slightest econmic gain.

Seminole Wind By :John Anderson. Con

  • A good example of this is by men will destroy natural and beautiful land to do anything for money such as in the song of how John Anderson says "Ever since the days of old, Men would search for wealth untold. They'd dig for silver and for gold, And leave the empty holes."

Figurative language in the song #1

  • Some of the symbolism in the song is actually real things that could happen or something similar in the world has happened. In the first paragraph of the song John Anderson says "Ever since the days of old, Men would search for wealth untold. They'd dig for silver and for gold, And leave the empty holes." Even though this may of not happened in the place hes referring to in the song could of happened in a pristine swamp somewhere.

Figurative Language in the song #2

  • The second example is personification in the song John Anderson says "I'm calling to you like a long lost friend But I know who you are."

Figurative Language in the song #2 con.

  • Hes stating that he knows the wind but he doesn't. But he knows this wind is an example of the Native Americans of who use to live there, and that they are apart of this wind and that they are a massive force of change and they're the only people who can restore this swamp.

What this song means to me.

  • It shows that there are places on earth that need to be protected.
  • Also that many of these places are natural beauties that have been destroyed by man, and need to be restored instead of being left to rot.
  • Lastly the line i believe is the most meaningful is "Where the black water rolls and the saw grass sways. The eagles fly and the otters play, In the land of the Seminole." The reason i chose this line is because it is saying that this land is a natural beauty that its apart of an anmials natural habitat that many thins live in peace here away from the sprawing growt of man.
