History
The Seminole tribe was formed out of several other tribes in the 1700s.The main people were the southern creek who left Georgia to find safer lands.People from other tribes joined them and they became known as the Seminole tribe.

Culture
Traditional Seminole cultural,religions,and recreational activities,as well as commercial endeavors,are dependent,on a healthy everglades ecosystem.Medicine men and women still play a vital roll in the lives of Seminole Indians.These special individuals do not replace medical doctors,nor are there ''treatments'' designed to take place of organized medicine "Sweet Grass" baskets Seminole Indians have been making for more than 60 years!

Clans
There are 8 clans in the
Seminole tribe. They are Panther, Bear, Deer, Wind, Bigtown, Bird, Snake, and Otter.

Food
The Seminoles got their food by hunting,farming,fishing, and gathering.

Late at night around the campfires,Seminole children safely tucked in mosquito nets used to listen to the elders retelling the old stories.

Location
You could find the Seminoles in Florida and Oklahoma.

Weapons
The Seminoles use bows and arrows, fishing spears, tomahawks, guns, and spears.

Tools
dugout canoes, poles for paddles, sails for palmetto fibers, dogs as pack animals, molbury bow and the bowstring was made from deer rawhide.

Clothing
The Seminole tribe wore very bright colors. Seminole men wore breech clothes. Seminole women wore wrap around skirts, usually in Seminole culture. But men and women both wore poncho-style mantels in cool weather. The Seminoles also wore moccasins on their feet.

Customs
Green Corn Dance
The Green Corn Dance is when Seminole people participate purification and manhoo ceremonies.Tribal disputes are also cleared at this time.

Toys Dolls:
Each child had a toy box.It was filled with their treasures, a shell rattle, a small ball,and a favorite doll.
