Sergey Brin

Sergey Brin

• Brin was born in Moscow, Russia on August 21st, 1973
• He came to America when he was only 6
• He saw upfront how the USA felt about the Soviet Union
• Sergey grew up in Maryland and attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School

Schooling

• Since Sergey grew up in Maryland, he got his bachelors at the University of Maryland
• He majored in computer science and mathematics
• In 1993 Sergey attended Stanford University to continue on computer science
• Sergey was an amazing student and graduated top of his class

• Sergey and Larry first met at the orientation for Stanford
• They weren't very fond of each other at first but as soon as they started swapping ideas they become the best of friends
• Since the were both on the verge of being experts they had a lot of knowledge on how to build a database like this

How google actually started

• Google started off as something small, Page and Brin's never expected this to grow big
• Google started off as a project for class, both bounced ideas off of each other, neither of them had the golden idea
• They first built a computer with inexpensive computers
• They used their dorms as offices and were on the search engine in and outside of them
• Next thing you know a superior search engine was built

THE Growth of google

• The creation of google did not take long because it was such a simple idea
• Sergey and Larry were successful on their first try because their expectations weren't that high
• The search engine with wildly successful, since so many people used it . they had constant bug fixes
• The official google website became a thing in 1997
• The OG Google is still on Stanford's site where it was firstly created

Google today

• Google today is amazingly successful, in today's english Google is now a verb
• Google gets about 4 million searches a day
• Sergey Brin is worth 43.1billon dollars today
• Google just turned 20 years old this year
• Today people just don't use google itself, we use the apps that come a long with it such as docs and classroom
