IS it a dominant or recessive trait?

It's mainly a recessive trait 40% of all cases were from a recessive trait

What are the inheritance patterns?

It is a recessive trait, so in males the x chromosome has to be mutated.

In females, both pairs of the X chromosome have to be mutated for a girl to catch it. This is why it is more common in males.
