What does an Interventional Radiologist do?
*medical sub-specialty of radiology that uses minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system

BACKGROUND

  • 4 years undergraduate in biology
  • 2 years of classroom studies in medical school
  • 4 years of clinical internship in diagnostic radiology
  • 1 year fellowship in interventional radiology

  • Guided by ultrasound

  • Under conscious sedation
  • Vitals taken every 5 minutes
