DATES

  • 1771-Ann Lee founds the religious sect based on male and female equality in religious practices.
  • 1774-Lee moves to America with her husband and a lot of followers.
  • 1785-First shaker building is built in Harvard, Massachuttess.
  • 1811-Built first flawless building ina new limestone in Pleasantville, Kentucky.
  • 1840-Reached 6,000 members in 19 communal homes.
