For my book project, I read Amazing Sharks!

I learned a lot about sharks.

8 things i want you to know are:

1.There are more than 350 different kinds of sharks in the world!

  • Some have dull teeth.
  • Some have sharp teeth.
  • Some glow in the dark.
  • I googled it and found out that there are actually 3 kinds that glow in the dark.
  • They are: cookie cutter sharks, lantern sharks, and kitefin sharks.

2.A whale shark is the biggest fish in the world. A whale shark can be as long as 2 Great White sharks. It's mouth can be as wide as a door! They only eat tiny animals.

3.Some sharks lay eggs, but most have live babies. Shark babies are called pups. Pups live without their mom right away.

4.During a sharks life, it loses thousands of teeth. A bigger tooth moves up into the hole of a lost tooth.

5.Sharks have many senses to help them eat. From more than a mile away they can hear a fish. They can also smell a drop of blood in a million drops of water.

6.When a fish splashes in the water or passes by a shark, the shark can feel the water moving. Sharks can even feel electricity.

7.People are afraid of sharks. But most sharks leave people alone. Some people used to hunt sharks for their fins. The fins were made into soup.

8.Scientists get in a cage and go under water to study sharks. They want to know about sharks and how many are alive. They are trying to stop people from hunting them.

My favourite part in this book was that I learned that there are sharks that glow in the dark.

I liked this book because it taught me a lot about sharks that I didn't know.
