WHERE THEY LIVED

  • The shawnee lived in ohio valley.
  • They were forced to move southward by the iroquios.
  • In the 1700's the shawnee moved back north (now southeastern indiana)
  • The shawnee tribe finally settled by the white river, and made a village to live in.
  • In the winter they moved to hunting camps.

WHAT THEY ATE

  • The men hunted deer,turkey,other small animals, and also fished.
  • The women grew crops such as corn,beans,pumpkins,squash,and grapes.

WHAT THEY WORE

  • The men wore breechclouts and leggings
  • The women wore skirts and leggings.
  • When it was the cold men and women wore ponchos
  • Both men,women,and childern wore moccasins.

WHAT THE CHILDREN DID.

  • They played with dolls,toys,and games.
  • One of the games was with little bows and arrows.
  • The babies were carried in cradleboards.

WHAT LANGUAGE THEY SPOKE

  • They now speak english.
  • Long ago they spoke Algonquin.
