General Information

  • The Shawnee tribe was originated in southern Oklahoma. In 1817 the treaty og fort meggs granted the shawnee indian tribe to the north.

Housing

  • The shawnee indians lived in a hut that was usually made out stone and mud but in the winter they would take the bison fur and other animal pelts and put them on the wall of the hut and also on the floor putting the pelts on the ground and on the wall kept

what the shawnees ate

  • The shawnedss would eat mostly meat in the winter and in the spring the shawnees would eat mostly fruit and veggies because in the spring the animals start to have babies in the spring

What the shawnees did

  • The shawnee men would mostly hunt each day and the women were devoted to cleaning making food and beating down the buffalo pelts to make clothes put of the children would play all day although the other tribes say the children should be prepared for wars but yet during the day for about an hour the children would learn how to hunt make clothes and spin wool.

What the shawnees wear

  • The shawnee woman wore a buffalo skin dress and the males would wear a dear skin pants and no shirt the chidren would wear the same but the males would have a shirt and the girls would wear the same dress due to the heat and weather
