WILLIAM SHELDON

  • William Sheldon was an American psychologist
  • He studied inmates in prison and their body types
  • He observed the varieties of human bodies
  • Sheldon came up with a theory of 3 different body types
  • Endomorphs, Ectomorphs, Mesomorphs

ECTOMORPHS

  • This body type has a thin and fragile frame
  • Ectomorphs are fragile, lean, and lightly muscled
  • This body type is the least likely to commit crime according to Sheldon's theory
  • Example: Kate moss

ENDOMORPHS

  • Endomorphs are considered soft and fat
  • Under developed muscles, a round physique, and have trouble losing weight
  • Example: jack black
  • Second most likely to commit crime

MESOMORPHS

  • Mesomorphs are muscular and athletic
  • They have excellent posture, gain muscle easily, and has thick skin
  • Example: Sylvester Stallone
  • This body type is the most likely to commit crime

  • According to Sheldon's theory, body types play a role in committing crime
