What would happen if books were left in a pile?

What would happen?

• It would be hard to find book.
• Books could get lost

I can use a shelf marker

I look on the shelves.

I pick out a book.

I slide my shelf marker in.

Then  I can take my book and look at it.  I leave the shelf marker on the shelf.

If I like my book, I take my shelf marker out and return it where it belongs.

I want to pick a new book, I slide my book back in and take my shelf marker out.
