CHARACTERS: A Person in Literature

  • Sherlock Holmes: A great directive with very little social skills.
  • Dr. John Watson: The narrator of all twelve books and Holmes's partner.
  • Irene Adler: Sherlock Holmes's significant other and plays the antagonist in A Scandal in Bohemia.
  • Godfrey Norton: A lawyer and Irene Adler's fiancé.
  • The King of Bohemia: Holmes and Watson's client, former lover of Irene Adler.

THEME: General idea or meaning of literature.
Justice and Judgment:
Holmes isn't a vigilante superhero, he's a private detective which does mean that he doesn't have to oblige to all of the police's rules.

CONFLICT: A DISAGREEMENT OR ARGUMENT

  • The king of Bohemia has had an affair with Irene Adler and she is blackmailing him.
  • The king has asked Sherlock Holmes to stop Adler from ruining the king.

PLOT: MAIN EVENTS IN A STORY

  • Watson has gotten married and Holmes is back at Baker Street and "alternating between cocaine and criminal cases."
  • Watson stops by and the two bat jokes at each other, which ends in Sherlock asking if John can remember how many stair he climbed walking up to the apartment.
  • A client stops by and turns out to be The King of Bohemia, he wants their help stopping Adler from blackmailing him.
  • Holmes uses a disguise to recover the photo from her house but eventually has Watson throw a smoke bomb into her house causing her to go to a certain compartment which from that he knows that's where the photo is. He doesn't recover the photo.
  • The King of Bohemia arrives at Sherlock's apartment the next morning and they head off to Adler's home.
  • Holmes receives a letter saying that Irene had been on his trail the whole time and had actually greeted him the previous day, he just didn't know. She is going to keep the photos, but not blackmail the king.
  • It ends with Sherlock keeping a picture of Adler and naming her the ultimate woman.
