Born in Brownfield Texas and started competing at age 7.

Member of the 1988 Texas State Championship team.

Initially recruited by the University of Texas.

Played at South Plains College and transferred to Texas Tech after 2 years.

Won the 1993 NCAA women's basketball championship at Texas Tech.

Jersey retired being 1 of the 3 on the Texas Tech Lady Raiders team.

Still apart of the NCAA women's basketball record books in many categories.

1993 winner of the Naismith college player of the year award.

Was chosen as that year's WBCA Player of the year.

Was chosen to the Division I All-American Squad in 1992 and 1993.

Was named the 1993 Sportswoman of the Year in the team category.

Recruited for the Houston Comets during the 1997 inaugural season.

Lead the Comets in the 1997 WNBA Championship.

1 of 2 to win a regular season MVP and an All-Star MVP in the same season.

First player in WNBA history to record a playoff triple-double.

Won the gold medal with the USA Basketball Women's National Team.

Three time gold medal winner in 1996, 2000, and 2004.

First women's basketball player to have a Nike shoe named after her.

Signed with the Seattle Storm in 2008 ending her career with the Comets.  

She became an unrestricted free agent after the 2011 season.
