Fish farming is a form of aquaculture, while other methods may fall under mariculture. It involves raising fish commercially in tanks or enclosures, usually for food.
There are many types of fish farms in Australia like Tuna farming, catfish farming and trout farming.
Salmon farming is one of the most harmful aquaculture production systems. The industry uses open net-cages placed directly in the ocean, where farm waste, chemicals, disuse and parasites are released directly into the surrounding waters harming other marine life.
I would say to the Australian government that if they are going to start fish farming they should only fish certain types of fish and only farm fish in their habitat so they don't risk diseases spreading to other fish in other areas and risking endangerment.
