FIRST PRODUCTION

• The first theatrical production of Shrek was performed on Broadway on December 14, 2008.
• The musical was based off of the 2001 movie, which was based off of the 1990 children's book "Shrek!" By William Steig
• The book only was only 32 pages long.

ORIGINAL CAST

• The original cast included Brian d'Arcy James as Shrek, Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquad, and Daniel Breaker as Donkey.

• The show, directed by Michael John Warren, lasted on broadway from December 14, 2008 to January 3, 2010 with a total of 441 performances

TOURS

• The first tour Shrek went on was a North American Tour that started in Chicago on July 25,2010 and ended on July 31, 2011 in Los Angeles
