  • One in every 100 Hispanic-Americans
  • 100,000 people in the US have sickle Cell
  • In 1988 the average lifespan of a person with sickle cell was 21 years
  • Now it is over 60 years

The treatments include stem and blood cell transplants

Cause of Disorder
To have the red blood cell disorder you have to have 2 Mutated hemoglobin traits

Therapy of the disorder are staying generally healthy and learning ways to cope with pain
