WOMEN'S RIGHTS

  • Women received little public respect and were unable to participate in many political activities, such as voting. This changed towards the 1920s, as women established their rights.

THE GREAT MIGRATION

  • In the 1920's African Americans began to move out of the rural Southern United States to the urban Northeast, Midwest, and West.

PROHIBITION

  • In the 1910's alcohol was legal but in the 1920's it was outlawed

COMMERCIAL RADIO

  • November 1920 the first commercial radio station in the US began broadcasting

FASHION

  • As women began to gain more freedoms fashion began to change as well.
