WHAT ARE SIMPLE MACHINES❓

Simple machines consist of levers, pulleys ⛓ , inclined planes, wheel & axles, wedges, and gears. ⚙

A lever has 3️⃣ classes.

LEVER 1️⃣
The fulcrum is placed between the load and effort.
ex: seesaw, crowbar, etc.

Lever 2️⃣
The load is in between the fulcrum and the effort.
ex: doors, staplers, can openers, & wheelbarrows.
7.
Lever 3️⃣
The effort is between the load and the fulcrum.
ex: fishing rods, arms, a hoe 👯 , baseball bat, & broom.
8.
Pulley ⛓
A pulley uses a wheel and rope. One end of the rope is connected to the load, the other end is pulled through the wheel.

Inclined plane
A flat, surface tilted at an angle.
One end is higher than the other.
Used for raising or lowering loads.
10.
WHEEL & AXLE
They are attached so that they can rotate.
A force is transferred from one another.
11.
WEDGE ⚒
A triangular shaped tool.
It is used to push objects apart.
12.
Gear ⚙
a set of toothed wheels that work together.
The teeth have to fit into each other.
