  • They Started to Live in the Dakotas
  • They Got Territory in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Montana.

  • Sioux Literally Means 'Little Snake'
  • They Have Jet Black Hair
  • Spanish Introduced Horses to them in the 1500s.
  • The Tribes had Various Aspects of Life, such as; War, Civil Rules, and Medicine Men.
  • Chiefs Demonstrated Strong Warrior Skills

  • In 1860s The Fight Over Land Became Complicated.
  • Sioux Indians battled White Men in Order to Keep Their Land.
  • U.S. Government Signed a Treaty to Keep Their Land to Keep a Portion of Their Land.
  • The Gold Rush took place and It Was Located on Sioux Land.
  • Sioux Lands Later on Traveled to the Dakotas to Get Away From Them.
