What is My slave memorial
My slave memorial will have information on the 2 million slaves that died.
Many people died on the voyage to 'The New World" via the Middle passage.
My memorial will tell you how they died and how they were captured.
The slaves were treated horribly, they were chained, beaten and cramped
They were traded for guns and manufactured guns.

My memorial continued.
When you go to my memorial you will get information.
WHY WERE THEY CAPTURED?
HOW WERE THEY CAPTURED?
HOW THEY DIED?
Europeans bribed other Africans for money to capture other Africans.

My memorial Continued
Most Africans died because of disease.
Measles/small pox.
When slaves died they were thrown off the ships for the sharks.
Slaves were captured for trade and free labor on plantation farms.

The middle passage
Sea journey undertaken by slave ships from West Africa to the West Indies.
The slaves were taken into the America's through these passages.
The Europeans took them from there homes and sold them.

Who were the slaves
These slaves were people from Africa.
They worked on plantation farms for free labor.
12 Million slaves were taken to America
However 2 million people died on the middle passage.
The slaves were forced to migrate to the New World.

The slave burial ground is marked by a memorial to honor the slaves who lived and
worked in"The New World".
The graves are unmarked and the identities and numbers of those buried
from the voyage to the "New World".
2 million people died on this voyage through harsh conditions.

This memorial is for the tribes that have lost their men too slavery.
Some of these tribes were: Fulas, Wollof, Sarahules, and Mandingos.
To these tribes I commemorate the loss and struggle of your people.
