- Slavery has existed in almost every race, religion, and culture in the world.
- Can be dated back to as early as 6800 BC
- system of social stratification that had been accepted by many societies in the past
Slavery is a form of social stratification and usually the rich are the masters and the poor are slaves.

- SLAVERY IS A CONDITION IN WHICH AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS OWNED BY ANOTHER WITHOUT ANY RIGHTS OR FREEDOM
- To be owned by another person and to be considered property
- This can be is the form of labour, CHILD LABOUR, prostitution, DOMESTIC SERVITUDE, and trafficking.
No one wants to be a slave, but to this day in many parts of the world, kids are born into slavery.
An estimated 21-36 million people are enslaved today.
