SLOPE

AYANA HOLSTON

TYPES OF SLOPES.

  • When increasing the slope is positive
  • When decreasing the slope is negattive
  • When the slope is horizontal its 0 slope
  • When the slope is vertical its an unidentified slope
  • The meanings of the slopes is so you can know what the number is gonna end up.

HOW TO GET STARTED!

  • You find the rise over run
  • So you put the y-axis on the top
  • And the x-axis on the bottom

ALMOST THERE!!

  • You plug in the numbers, the y-axis # goes on top
  • The x-axis # goes on the bottom
  • You subtract y1 minus y2, and x1 minus x2
  • And you find your answer!
  • YOUR ANSWER WILL ALWAYS BE IN A FRACTION FORM!!! AND LABEL THE AXIS!!!

EXAMPLE

  • Find the slope of line segment points, (1, -4), and (-4' 2)
  • Line the numbers up
  • Subtract and you will get
  • 2
