1.
Slopes
By : Darius Murray
2.
Types of slopes
The main four slopes consist of ;
Positive Slope (When lines go up-left to right)
Negative Slope ( When lines go down-left to right)
Zero Slope (When the lines are horizontal)
Undefined Slope (When the lines are vertical)
3.
Slope Information
Slope is a number that describes both the direction and steepness of a line
Slope is often denoted by the letter M.
The line is either increasing, decreasing, horizontal or vertical
The equation of any straight line is called a linear equation.
4.
Some Slope Formulas
Slopes usually have a formula, or equation to solve it with.
The linear equation can be written as y=mx+b
Two point formulas = m=y2-y1/x2-x1
The basic formula for slope is rise/run
5.
Things to remember .
Some slopes can be placed on grids.
DO NOT FORGET CHANGE IN X/Y
Fractions can be used to solve some slope equations.
Slopes can be negative and positive.
When given two points, use a grid.
