MISSION STATEMENT

To foster action to protect, enhance, restore, and revitalize the Slough and its watershed.

WHAT IS THE CSWC?

The Columbia Slough Watershed Council protects the environmental integrity of the Columbia Slough. They use education as a driving force in protecting the health of the watershed.

Field Projects

There are several field projects that are offered at Whitaker Ponds. They cover topics such as geography, life sciences and scientific inquiry and can include service learning. Lessons can be adjusted to meet specific state standards. Programs are offered free of charge to schools within the Columbia Slough watershed, excluding cost of transportation.

Classroom Presentations

The Columbia Slough Watershed Council offers a variety of in-class presentations about the ecosystem, human interactions and water sciences. The presentations support all ages of students, from kindergarten through college. Programs are offered free of charge to schools within the Columbia Slough watershed.

Professional Development

Columbia Slough Watershed Council also offers occasional professional development activities to help promote the teaching of resource management and natural science in schools.
