People don't smoke anymore.

Fact: Almost 43.8 million people still smoke. That's almost one in five!

e-Cigarettes, cigars and hookahs are safe alternatives

While these products aren't as harmful, they still aren't healthy as they all still contain nicotine.

Myth #3

Infrequent, social smoking is harmless.

Fact

 Any smoking, even social smoking, is dangerous.

Myth#4

Smoking outside eliminates the dangers of secondhand smoke

Fact
There is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. Even brief secondhand smoke exposure can cause harm.

Myth #5

 "I've smoked for so long; the damage is already done."

Fact
The damage caused by smoking is cumulative, and the longer a person smokes, the greater his/her risk for life-threatening ailments. But quitting smoking at any age brings health benefits.

Myth#6

 Trying to quit smoking will stress me out -- and that's unhealthy.

Fact
While, tobacco withdrawal is stressful, there's no evidence that the stress has negative long-term effects.
