HOW SNOWFLAKES FORM

  • Snowflakes form when tiny supercooled cloud droplets freeze
  • The droplet will stay frozen if it is below 0
  • There must be moisture in the air to form a ice crystal
  • Then ton of tiny ice crystals come together
  • They form a snowflake

HOW COLD DOES IT HAVE TO BE TO SNOW?

  • It does not have to be below 0 to snow
  • In America the heaviest snow fall between 0 and 2 degrees
  • Snow melts if the degrees rises over 32 degrees

FORMATION

  • Snow forms when the could is below 32
  • Then tiny ice crystals stick until they form a snowflake
  • Next the crystals keep adding up
  • Then when the snowflake is heavy enough,it falls

SNOWING

  • You do not no if it will snow if snow falls from the cloud, it might rain
  • Snow might melt as it travels in warm air
  • If it gets over 32 degrees when the snowflake is falling it might rain
