This Haiku deck was created for my 8th-grade social media class. I had to select an article from Newsela about social media and create an online presentation using Haiku Deck.

High School coaches are now giving their players the "Social Media Talk". Talking about their online manners, and the precautions of not being mindful as an athlete on social media.

College coaches taking social media into consideration.

Coaches are now taking players social media profiles into consideration. Athletes are being ignored because of their social media profiles. Players are being dropped because of their social media behavior.

Online Actions

Steve Mask St. Paul's Episcopal School is taking his players online actions so seriously that he has assigned an assistant to monitor his players accounts. Making sure all his players are showing strong character online.

Dukes football coach David Cutcliffe said "It's just insane what some of the players think is ok",

Colleges on the lookout

College coaches are now realising players because of slip ups on social media. Coaches are more focused on the players character and how they show it.

Dukes football coach had tweeted out "Dropped another prospect this AM due to his social media presence ... Actually glad I got to see the 'real' person before we offered him,".

Players needing better judgment

Arkansas football coach Bret Bielema judges the athletes he is recruiting by three set criterias. GPA, ACT, SAT scores and the third is social media. Bielema was very keen about a player he was recruiting. The player was extremely talented and had all of the components to be a star. Bielema had to discontinue recruiting him because name on social media was "Something I cannot repeat here" Bielema.

The overall concept of this article is that your mindfulness on social media is very important. Many people are paying a price for just not caring on social media.
