One of the first big fights over corporate powers began in 1901, when Minnesota's railroad tycon, James .J. Hill tried to merge his great northern railway with two other major railroads.

To preserve or carefully use something particularly natural resources

WAYS TO CONSERVE BACK THEN

  • Wear your clothes for 2 days then wash them.
  • Leave your fire going till it burns out, to save wood.
  • Most workers could be discharged without cause in 1904.
  • Shower every other day. (To save hair wash and body wash.)

WAYS TO CONSERVE NOW

  • Use water bottles.
  • Wash your pants every other day.
  • Unplug appliances when not being used.
  • Water your lawn during the evening when it's dryer and cooler.
  • Set your fridge to be between 36-38 F degrees and freezer to be between 0-5 F degrees.

  • Car and bike parts.
  • Water jugs & Water bottles.
  • Clothes can be used as rags.
  • Calculator buttons can be used to make new ones.
  • Paper and folders can be reused.
