SOCIAL SECURITY ACT

ESTABLISHED

It was founded on AUGUST 14, 1935,

PURPOSE

  • The purpose was to stop the banks closing and the stock markets crashing.
  • The Social Security Act was made to help the people who lost all there savings.

AFFECT/BENEFIT

  • Provided workers with unemployment and insurance.
  • This also helped with retirement benefits because when they retire from there jobs they get there income.

SUCCESSFUL

  • This act solved the money issue problems.
  • Laid off needy families disabled workers, and normal workers.

IS IT STILL AROUND TODAY?

  • The Social Security Act today is simpler and more basic.
  • They replace the earning that families lost instead.
