The cotton gin made life in America much easier. Farmers grew more cotton because they were able to process the cotton faster and more efficiently. As Americans bought more cotton, more textile mills were needed and built. Cotton was in high demand, but slaves were not as necessary to pick and process the cotton because of the cotton gin.
Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin in 1793. The cotton gin increased the demand for cotton greatly.
SAMUEL MORSE INVENTED THE TELEGRAPH IN 1837.
Telegraphs expanded Americans' horizons.Telegraphs made it easier for people to get news from around the country, thus making them more aware of what was going in their country and the world around them.
The steamboat greatly improved daily life for the Americans. It improved the ease and speed of transportation. It provided a new, safe, and reliable way for people to travel and for businesses to transport goods and building materials.
On February 28, 1827, the first U.S. railroads were born. The first railroad track was only 13 miles long. However, railroads experienced drastic changes over the next several years.
The railroads changed society. This invention enabled people to move faster than they could with horses and buggies. Businesses also used the railroad to transport goods and building materials across the country.

Robert Fulton invented the steamboat in 1807.
