He was an Athenian sculptor who loved philosophy
He was also a critic of the Sophists

He was arrested for Atheistic beliefs and corrupting the youth of Greece
He was sentenced to death and was forced to drink hemlock
His friends came to rescue him but he refused to be rescued and willingly drank the hemlock
He never wrote down any of his work, but thankfully his student Plato did
