- Typically you can install one copy on your desktop and one on your laptop.
- Business people can only use one copy per device.
You buy a license not a product
- in iOS you can install 1 app on five devices with the same Apple ID
- OEM Software. Original Equipment Manufacturers' software cannot be installed on a different brand.
- All OEM software must come with a Certificate of Authenticity. (Validation)
- Academic software offered at reduced price
Risks of Pirated software
- Higher costs for everybody else to make up the short-fall
- Viruses
- Legal action
