PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SOLAR ENERGY

WELCOME TO MY POWER POINT ABOUT WHY SOLAR ENERGY IS THE BEST.

HOW SOLAR ENERGY WORKS?

  • When light hits certain objects it turns into electrical energy.
  • The solar panel converts those photons into electrons of direct current .
  • Solar cells are called photovoltaic.
  • Like other energys solar energy don't take water.
  • The us is a massive power plant in the sky.

HOW COULD SOLAR ENERGY BE USED?

  • Heat things, like houses.
  • Turn light into electrical energy.
  • Heat water.
  • Helps reduce fabrication cost.

WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF ITS CURRENT USE?

  • Hot water, warm pools.
  • Ventilation
  • Solar vehicles.
  • Agriculture and horticulture.

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS ON THE ENVIORMENT?

  • Thermal plants.
  • 3.5-10 acres per megawatt.
  • No global-warming involved.

IS THE TECHNOLOGY WIDELY ACCEPTED TODAY?

  • In the U.S had more than 3,500 megawatts.
  • 350,000,000 terawatts of power is available form the sun
  • Solar energy was founded 100 years ago.
  • It takes 10 years 20% of homes use solar energy (in the U.S)
  • The harnessing sun rays are harmless.

POSITIVES

  • Don't create green house gases
  • Don't pollute air/water
  • Life span of 20+ years
  • Easy to maintain, no moving parts
  • Not difficult to install

NEGATIVES OF SOLAR ENERGY

  • Needs proper recycling
  • Large surface required
  • High upfront costs
  • Sunny area required
