PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SOLAR ENERGY

BY JESSICA

HOW IS SOLAR ENERGY MADE?

Solar Energy is made when the sun from outer space shines its bright light onto earth.

Solar energy is considered a renewable energy that is if the sun doesn't burn out.

How do we collect Solar energy?

To collect solar energy, humans have design machines called "solar panels".

After it gets converted into electricity it gets stored in utility company until it is needed

How we use the energy to create electricity?

After the energy is collected the photovoltaic energy is then converted into alternating current in an inverter.

Where is it most used?

Solar panels are mostly installed in Germany even though it's not the hottest place.

After that Italy comes in second and China comes in third.

PROS OF USING SOLAR ENERGY

  • It is a renewable energy
  • Environmentally friendly, there is pollution involved
  • The solar panels doesn't produce any noise
  • They can be stalled onto the roofs of houses taking up almost no space.

CONS OF USING SOLAR ENERGY

  • It is expensive to install the solar panels
  • If your not going to put it up on the roof then it could take up a lot of space
  • Solar panels only produce energy when it's sunny
  • Pollution can easily affect how the solar panels works.

MYTHS USING SOLAR PANELS

  • Some people said that after getting them they don't last long
  • Others just suggested that they looked ugly

How does it work?

When sunlight from the sun strikes the panels the particles of light knocks electrons free from atoms generating a flow of electricity

INTERESTING FACTS

  • Solar energy can relate to fossil fuel because of the photosynthesis it produces
  • Space missions use solar energy to power their spaceships
  • The earth receives about1,366 watts of direct solar light per sq. metre
  • The largest solar power plant is located in Mojave dessert in California covering 1000acres

Is it good for Richmond?

In my opinion I don't think that Richmond is a good place to use solar panels. This is because it's always raining in Richmond or its just that we're beside raincouver.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
