IS Solar energy renewable?

Yes it is renewable. 

How does Solar energy work exactly?

  • The suns light contain energy.
  • Usually when light hits a object the energy turns into heat. 
  • When light hits certain material the energy turns into a electrical curret.
  • Solar panels harness electrical currents for power.

Advantages?

  • Solar Energy is free after building expenses.
  • It doesn't cause pollution like other energy sources do.
  • Many everyday items such as calculators can be powered by solar energy
  • Also estimated that the worlds oil reserves will last for 30 to 40 years.
  • Solar energy is infinite. 

Disadvantages?

  • Solar energy only accounts for a tiny portion of US total energy generation
  • it is more expensive than alternatives like cheap but highly polluting coal
  • solar power is about 5 times as expensive as what people pay for outlets

how does it effect climate/global warming?

  • Doesn't exactly effect the climate.
