What is it?

A SOLAR POWERED CAR IS A CAR BUT IT RUNS ON SOLAR POWER. IT HAS A SOLAR PANEL ON IT’S ROOF BUT It does the same thing.

Who came up with the solar car?

The first model solar car was made in 1955 by an employee at General Motors, by the name of William Cobb. At the powerama convention in Chicago he showed off his new ‘sunmoblie’.

How the solar car stops.

All the energy that is made is used when the car is moving. When the car stops all the energy is stored in a battery and when the car starts again all the energy comes out and is used. It alll goes in a big cycle over and over again.

PROS AND CONS

• Cons - Not as powerful, can’t go over a long distance and not as fast.
• Pros - No pollution and renewable.
