THE SUN

  • The sun also known as Sol is located in the middle of the solar system.
  • It is 4.6 billion years old.
  • The surface of the sun is 5500 degrees Celsius and the core of the sun is 13600000 degrees Celsius.
  • The Suns mass is 99.86% of the solar system.

MOON

  • The moon is Earths' natural satellite.
  • It is 4.6 billion years old.
  • The surface temperature is -223 to 123 degrees Celsius.
  • It orbits around Earth and takes 27.322 days to go around the Earth.

FIRST IS MERCURY

  • Mercury is the closest to the sun.
  • It is very hard to see during light.
  • The surface temperature -173 to 427 degrees Celsius.
  • 88 days in Mercury is one year but one day in Mercury is equal to 176 Earth days.
  • Mercury is 57,910,000 km away from the sun.

SECOND VENUS

  • The surface temperature is 462 degrees Celsius.
  • For Venus to orbit around the whole sun is 225 days.
  • It is 108.2M km away from the sun.
  • Venus is 96% carbon dioxide and 3% of nitrogen and other gases.

THIRD EARTH

  • Earth is a special planet because it is the only planet where humans are able to live.
  • The surface temperature is -88 to 58 degrees Celsius.
  • Scientist thought that Earth was the centre of the solar system because of the Suns movement in space.
  • Earth's movement is gradually getting slower.
  • It is 149.5 M away from the sun.

FOURTH MARS

  • Mars was named after a Roman God.
  • Mars is also known as the Red Planet.
  • Mars has 2 moons. They are called Phobos and Deimos.
  • The surface temperature is -87 to -5 degrees Celsius.
  • It is 227.9 M km away.

FIFTH JUPITER

  • Jupiter has 67 moons.
  • There are quite a few you are able to see for instance Lo and Europa. ext.
  • The surface temperature is -108 degrees Celsius.
  • 778.5M km away from the Sun.
  • Jupiter is made of hydrogen and helium.

SIXTH SATURN

  • Saturn is not a solid it is made up of gas.
  • 94% is hydrogen and 6% is helium.
  • Saturn is 1.433 B km away from the sun.
  • It has 62 moon and have some that are noticeable for example Rhea.
  • The surface temperature is -139 degrees Celsius.

SEVENTH URANUS

  • Uranus 2.877 B km away from the Sun.
  • It has 27 moons and you are able to see some in the sky for example Ariel.
  • The surface temperature is -197 degrees Celsius.
  • It was discovered by William Herschel.

EIGHTH NEPTUNE

  • It has 14 moons for instance Triton.
  • The surface temperature is - 201 degrees Celsius.
  • It is 4.503B km away from the Sun.
  • It was named after the Roman God of the sea.
  • Neptune has thin layers of rings made out of ice participles.
