SOLOMON'S LIFE

  • Solomon was the son of King David and Bathsheba
  • He was considered to be the wisest man on earth
  • God appeared in a dream to Solomon
  • He told him he could have anything he wanted
  • Solomon asked for wisdom

SOLOMON'S LIFE

  • Because he asked for wisdom God blessed him with many riches
  • He was in charge of the entire region west of the Euphrates
  • He owned 12,000 horses and 1,400 chariots
  • Solomon also had 700 wives and 300 concubines
  • He had to make the judgement between two prostitutes

SOLOMON'S LIFE

  • Solomon wrote 3,000 proverbs and 1,005 songs
  • He wrote Proverbs and Ecclesiastes
  • He built the Holy Temple
  • It took 7 years to complete
  • His palace took 13 years to build

SOLOMON'S LIFE

  • He also built a city wall
  • Solomon built cities for chariots and horsemen
  • He also created storage cities
  • Solomon placed heavy taxation on people in his kingdom
  • As a result they became bitter

SOLOMON'S LIFE

  • After 40 years as the ruler of Jerusalem Solomon died
  • He was buried in the City of David
  • Rehoboam, who was his son, succeeded him as king
  • Under Rehoboam's rule Solomon's kingdom was lost
  • It was divided into 2 parts
