Sootface gets treated poorly by her sisters
She can't tell her father because she is afraid of her sisters.
A woman comes to the village clamming her brother which is a hunter is invisiable and whoever can guess what he looks like gets to marry him.
A bunch of girls try to guess what the man looks like, but they don't get it correct
Sootface decides that since nobody, even her sisters, had guessed the hunters appearance she would try.
Sootface tries to convince her sisters to let her wear their clothes, but they don't budge.
Sootface then makes a skirt out of birch and everyone laughs at her appearance
Sootface goes to the hunter and his sister and responds correctly to the question the sisters asks her.
Sootface is cleaned up to make her more beautiful and ends up marrying the hunter.
